August 20th is a date that stands out for me.
10 years ago, I had my heart attack and double bypass surgery at Queens Medical Center.
While a heart attack is not something to celebrate, I want to celebrate 10 years of surviving it! As you know, I don't always eat healthy but very often I do, I just don't post about it.
Along with surfing and watching my diet, the friendship and support I get from a lot of you have made thriving in my recovery and enjoying life better! Mahalo to you all from the bottom of my heart!!! (No pun intended)

10 years ago, just out of surgery, check those tubes in me!
Mahalo to the staff at Queens - they saved my life!

This was my first meal after surgery, Beef broth, Jello and Orange juice.
==================================
Today I wanted something special but still on the healthy side, Dora and I went to Hana Sushi in Hawaii Kai.

Tofu
Tofu is one of my go-to items at home, I have some every day.

Oh yeah!

Ikura close up - So good!

Scallop Nigiri close up - Melts in your mouth!

Garlic Ahi close up - Winnahs!

Saba close up - I love Saba!

Onion Salmon - One of our favorites

Dora got the Spicy Ahi Don - Fresh Ahi with some tempura crunchies
Not everyone has a second chance in life, I wake up every day grateful to see another sunrise, hopefully catch a few waves and share some pictures with all of you. Mahalo for being a part of my life!
