Yuki Short Story - Morning Hug
Every morning before I leave for the beach, I give Dora a hug and a kiss. Every morning Yuki would come running and jumping and barking to us! He could be sleeping in another room and he'll come running and barking! We never could figure out how he knew! We would try to be quiet but he would still come running and jumping! Everyday, even on his last day, he came running and barking.
He wanted a hug and a kiss too! Every morning I would give him a hug and a kiss. We miss him every morning.

Yuki short story - Yuki and the Sewing Needle
Several years back, Dora was working from home and I was in the office. Dora called me to say Yuki go into her sewing kit and thinks Yuki may have swallowed a sewing needle. The needle about 2 inches long with the thread running through the eye. What?! Why?! How do we know if he swallowed it?! What do we do?! Dora was pretty sure a needle was missing.
I was imagining taking him to the vet to get an X-ray and seeing the needle lodged in his stomach. How would they get it out? Surgery?
Instead of calling the vet, I turned to Google, which recommended giving your dog LOTS of food. So that's what we did. Because we weren't absolutely sure he ate the needle, we gave that a try. Dora gave Yuki LOTS of dry food and we watched him all afternoon, he acted normal all night. Maybe he didn't swallow the needle?
The next day Dora was picking up Yuki's poop and felt something sharp. Yuki had pooped the needle out!!! It was incredible that that 2 inch sharp needle could pass all the way through his stomach and intestines! We were SUPER relieved! We never left a sewing kit out again.

Yuki short story - Yuki and the Chocolate Bar
A few years ago we came home after school and work to find a mangled candy wrapper on the floor. Who did it? How? We wondered. Then we realized Yuki had climbed on the sofa to climb on the credenza to get a whole candy bar that we were going to give away. Yuki is only about 10 pounds and he ate the whole bar. We were freaking out! At that time, I just knew that chocolate can be bad for dogs. I called the vet and they said to bring him in ASAP. After checking him out they said he should be ok and sent us home with some sedatives. While chocolate can be toxic, and can cause heart problems from the caffeine, Yuki seemed hyper but ok. He just needed sedatives to combat the caffeine. While we were worried that night, everything was fine by morning. Just like kids, our pets get into trouble too. We were so happy Yuki was ok and never left candy on the credenza again.
