It was a long day, as it always is when we Raku, but if your pieces come out nice it's all worth it.
The parking lot has many 'Urban gardens' maintained by the senior citizens living in the complex nearby. I'm always amazed how nice the vegetables are given the tiny space they have.
I had to jam because everyone had started glazing last week and I didn't do a thing. Here's some of my stuff.
We heat the kiln to about 2000 degrees!
This is Bev's box - came out NICE!
Bev's other box using a different technique using ferric chloride - like an explosion of colors!
We were all required to make something with a dragon, since it's the year of the dragon. Here's my dragon plate - I like the shiny copper look.
Here's some of my stuff - this one cracked in half, but I'll try epoxy it back later.
Almost everybody asked 'what is that?' This is the most practical piece i made - it's going to be my condiment tray at work, it'll hold all my shoyu, catchup, salt and pepper packets I keep at my desk.
WOW! Sorry, I never made it back. Glad you posted pictures. Your stuff look awesome!
