Surf Report 04-30-2012

Waves: 1 - 2 feet

Wind: Super strong

I woke up hoping for the 'Magic Monday'.......  Still had some remnants rolling in BUT the wind was HONKING!!!!!

On the positive, the crowd was fabulous!   That might have been due to the Shark sighting, you think?  Ho, the excitment continues!

CORRECTION: Lionel did assist Sonny by retrieving his board, however to save the unprepared-near-drowning-idiot it was a TEAM effort.  Lionel Shiroma , Alan Miller, Curt Smith, Daryl Yuuki all had a part to save his life.  Good job men!   When in doubt, don't go out!

I got the 'pass' AGAIN!!!!  Waves were still good and fun!

 

The humble Hero of the day. Lionel helped to save 2 surfers who lost their boards - one almost drowned!   Another exciting day!!!

Another fun morning with good surf, slightly bigger but more wind. I was happy to be surfing on a Saturday!

It was an eventful morning, Jamy broke her leash, Mark lost his kayak and (after a moment of silence) Leighton buckled his favorite board...... all of this in one set!  Be careful!!!

JUNK AGAIN!!!!       For REAL!!!!!

Small, cold and windy!   Stay home tomorrow!

 

I think PSH boards are the BEST and the main reason is Blane not only shapes the boards, he rides the boards in ALL conditions!  Here he is stroking hard on a juicy one!

Sunday Dinner 04-22-2012

My Mom's eye's lit up when I mentioned Ideta the other day so.... that was our choice for dinner tonight.

Located in beautiful downtown Kapalama, very close to the World Famous Paddle Surf Hawaii shop.

We were happy and stuffed!!! Nobody wanted dessert except Dawn and I - we shared this Coffee ice cream.

It's been a while since we came here - we all forgot how good it was. Looks like we'll be back soon! Good quality at pretty reasonable prices.
