Dora and I chose Michel's at the Colony Surf Hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.
Our first time here for dinner.
Lavosh and fruity butter.
Beautiful dining room equally beautiful flatware and silverware.
Thanks to Sylvia, we had an awesome beach-side table. Unfortunately the vog killed any chance of a good sunset. Oh well, that's just a good reason for a return visit.
Amuse bouche - the free appetizer. A nice Smoked Salmon on toast.
It was a tough decision but we went with the 6 Course tasting menu.
1st Course - Duck Consomme. We enjoyed it.
2nd Course - Seared Scallop with Sweet Potato in a Light Curry Sauce. Another hit!
3rd Course - Bay Shrimp and Endive Salad. My first thought was 'looks so plain' but this was an interesting mix of salty prosciutto ham, sweet shrimp, crunchy endive with cranberry and walnuts.
4th Course - Chicken and Kurobuta Pork pasta.
Cleansing Course - Rasberry sorbet intermezzo. Refreshing!
5th Course - Beef Tenderloin with Portobello Mushroom in a rich wine reduction sauce. This was SUPER good but I wished it was a little bigger.
6th Course - Molten Chocolate Cake with berry sorbet. Dora LOVED the cake!!!
A GREAT adventure in dining with lots of new flavors!
Happy Anniversary to us!!! Looking forward to many more years of fun and eating together!
