Dining Report 10-23-2010
After a hard day at the pool and lagoon we headed off the the 'Kai Market'. It was 'Seafood Night' so I was pretty excited to see what was offered.
Located in the Sheraton Waikiki hotel at the beach level, it has replaced the Ocean Terrace restaurant.
Fresh Oysters - Now that's how you start it out! Your choice of cocktail sauce or ponzu with daikon and chili pepper!
Sashimi and poke selections were good.
Crab is a 'must have' on any good buffet!
For the beef lovers, there was Prime Rib and this Braised Short Ribs.
Chinese style - Salt and Pepper Shrimp.
Clams in Black Bean sauce is one of my favorites!
I actually had room for some desserts like this Chocolate Tart.
Also this Sweet Potato Cheesecake - looks good AND tastes good too!
Overall the buffet was GOOD. Good quality dishes made fresh at a decent price. The regular price was $55.00 for adults but kamaaina get 25% off, plus if you're a 'senior' you get even more. You know its good when you see other local friends there too. We saw 3 friends in seperate parties there tonight.

We just finished our leisurely breakfast at Wailana, now heading out to the pool and lagoon! Here's our view - beautiful day but the waves look small.

The timeshare unit is awesome! It's BIG and NICE with the full kitchen and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Plus Dan da Man hooked us up with some extras!

Ala Moana Park History 101
Eric Keawe sent me a picture of Ala Moana Park probably taken in the 1920's. This sparked some interest in finding out more about how the park came to be the way it is now.
Check it out - no Magic Island, no Kewalos but had the circle and had the Tennis Courts and the High Rise area!
Eric also found this site that contained some history of the park.
