Surf Report 09-30-2010

Waves: 1 - 3.5 feet

Wind: Light North

What a surprise!  Bigger and better than yesterday with EMPTY lineup!!!  North winds and good West swell produced some CLEAN and MEAN walls with some barrels!

A good week for surf!!!!

Sorry no video today - too busy surfing, you'll have to use your imagination - hahaha!

Another GOOD morning of surf!!! 

Early morning was firing some overhead sets - lining up and barrelling!  As usual sets slowed down at 7am but started getting better as I was leaving. Unforntunately the south winds were getting stronger too.

I bet all the secret East side spots were going OFF with the variable winds and North swell!

Slight boost this morning! There's some nice West bowls rolling in this morning with a little morning-sickness from the variable winds.

A fun morning with good crowd and lots of waves.

Started out great - waves were good-n-plenty - BUT then it was gone. Victim of the 7:00 am LULL.

That's ok, still good to have waves with glassy conditions!!!

Surf Report 09-23-2010 & Fireworks Banned?

Perfect conditions but where's the waves?  There were a few good waves every 40 minutes - better off going to the country!  AND.... the kook-count was higher than normal.

Sets took too long, mostly the small waves - enjoy!

I understand the danger to people and property, increased risk for fires, making life worse for people with respiritory problems and terrifying pets (Right Daryl) but I just feel like a piece of my past is going away forever. Kinda like a good old restaurant closing, but worse.  New Years Eve will not be the same without it. Anybody feel the same?

The smoooth conditions continue with even smaller waves. The 'word' is the swell will hit Friday. Shhhh!

The board has been claimed!!! Thanks to CT (for spotting the ad on CL) and Tone (for doing the hookup).  The owner was Mary who surfs the spot somewhat regularly. Pat yourself on the back for doing a good deed!!!

Contest Report 09-19-2010

Today was the second day of the HASA contest at Courts. They run the shortboards on Saturday and longboards and SUP on Sunday. The waves better than I expected, we had nice head high sets with near perfect conditions. The only bad thing was the high tide which, you know, slows the action down.

I got lucky and won the SUP division. Mahalos to Tommy Chun Ming for my last wave and mahalo to Wes for not entering.

Also got second in the longboard division. I was scrambling because I only had only one average wave with a few minutes left. Luckily I got a nice set wave at the end to boost me to second. That was close if didn't catch that last wave I would have been last.
