Wind: Light offshore

Winds calmed down but so did the waves. Nice conditions with smaller waves. Even with the small waves the crowd was up, everybody must be jonesing for surf.

BC was out again, on the down low, working the 'perimeter'.

Some inconsistent Trade wind-swell action with light winds and high tide.

PSH in the house... Blane and Austin were out for a little while. Always cool to see them out.

The small stuff continues.... although I did think it was a little better than yesterday because the direction was better.

What's worse is that there is nothing on the horizon.... time for fishing?

This morning gave us some slightly bigger waves from the East, which means some are good and most fade into the channel. Overall it was NOT good.  Go to the gym, go work early, go scrape your wax or fix your dings or just stay home.

Surf Report 08-24-2010 & Key Adventure

Small but clean waves this morning with nice conditions.

What a day!  First I lost my key (which was in my leash cuff, which came un-done on a wave). After 10 minutes of hoping to 'spot' it from my board, I went in to get a mask and snorkel from Derick. After 10 minutes of searching with the mask and snorkel a wave blasts me as I'm holding the snorkel.... then I lost the mask. That kind of put an end to the search. Meanwhile, Wes (from SO) came by with Jay and offered to try open my car. I accepted his offer and went in. On the beach Wes was not only able to open my car BUT he also made me a NEW KEY!!!!

What started out as a bad day had a happy ending - and I made it to work on-time!

Mahalos to Wes for opening my car and the new key AND mahalos to everyone who offered to give a ride home.

Small weak waves and kind of crowded, basically not too good. But for me who didn't surf since Friday, it was fun.

Stay home tomorrow.

How was the surf today? I'll be there tomorrow...

I was waiting to cook up the Toau I caught last week and today was the day. We were having dinner at my mom's house.

My dish 'Toau Ala Moana', Toau fillets in Browned Butter and Sliced Almonds. Turned out not bad so I might try it again.

I thought today was better than yesterday, still had good sets, still had lots of waves, crowd was good and the waves were cleaner.

Happy Statehood day at all - especially the 'working' guys like me.
