I missed it!!!! EVERYBODY said it was good (before the onshore winds). All I can say is it looked pretty good.
Dawn and I went to the beach to participate in the DTRIC Insurance Adopt-a-highway. We pick up trash along Ala Moana boulevard. After our good deed, we built sand castles and swam. After the beach we went to the Mexico Restaurant on School street in Kalihi.

Feels like you're in Mexico and you are in Mexico (restaurant).
Free chips and salsa. The salsa was good but I expected it to be fresher.
Dora ordered the Enchilada Combo - Beef and Chile Relleno. Good and cheesey.
I ordered the Carne Asada because I read many reviews that said it was really good. I was disappointed. The seasoning was great but the beef was tough with 'boingy' parts. I must go back to try something else.

In the evening we went to the Hongwanji Bon Dance.
On the way I spotted a Chris Wong banner - vote for Chris, he's Tony's son-in-law.
We went early to eat - BBQ sticks, Spam musubi, Teri burger, Andagi and Shave Ice!!!
Found out my niece Brianna is a Taiko drummer!

You never know who you'll see at a Bon Dance.... Colleen Hanabusa strutting her stuff - must be an election year?!

Another dissapointing morning - there were a few good waves but a lot of 'confusion' (side chop and side waves)�in the water. My expectation for tomorrow is now very low - remember stay home!

Finally got a nice sunny morning to use the new camera. This camera doesn't seem to be as good as my Olympus, I'll have to use it more to decide.

There has been recent discussion whether or not the trees near the tennis courts are new or existing.
Here's proof the trees were existing - this was taken in March 2010. The tree behind Alan is the one near the water fountain and you can see the branch of the tree on the other side of the sidewalk.

Here's how my day went...
Dawn and I hit the beach for some sand castles and surf!
Lunch was at the Plumeria room at the Kahala Hotel.
They had a good assortment of salads.
Sushi and mussels.
Raw oysters - that's what I like!
Carving station - featuring Prime rib and Pork Loin. They also had a full breakfast spread, another row of hot entrees and full dessert station.
My first round - Chicken salad, Sushi, Oysters, Poke, Lomi Salmon and Smoked salmon.
Round 2 - Prime rib, Braised Beef, Butterfish, Ahi Katsu, Scallops, Shrimp and mashed pototoes with cheese and bacon. There goes the cholesterol!
After lunch this is how we all felt.

I've been seeing Shave Ice from Shimazu's alot on Facebook, so I was craving some. Dawn and I went to Kokonuts in Koko Marina.
