Red Sea New Year's Party 01-30-2010

Saturday night was the Red Sea New Year's party. It was held at the Hukilau Restaurant in downtown Honolulu. For those who don't know, Red Sea Ocean Adventures is run by Kyle Nakamoto and my sister Cathy. They can fulfill any of your surfing, fishing or diving dreams. The kids had fun too - I brought some 'sticky hands' that were a big hit.

There were 'choke' prizes - Calendars, Tshirts, Rash guards, DVD and huge Gyotakus.

But EVERYONE went home a winner with a Gyotaku and Earline's famous seasoned salt.

Surf Re-session 01-29-2010

I couldn't take it - trying to work while the new board is calling to me 'ride me...ride me'. I left work to surf Courts - onshore but fun. The board worked well in the sloppy surf - can't wait for better conditions.

What can I say? You should've surfed yesterday. This morning the waves were smaller and weaker and the crowd was out - almost like a weekend. Yikes!

Wind: Medium offshore

Best day of the year for Courts - juicy West bowls with long racy walls. Add to that lots of waves and light crowd - you guessed it, late to work again.

BOUNS - I got to try a hand-glassed PSH 8-7 this morning. It's the same length as my curent ride but WAY quicker. It's on my wish list now!

As usual, I went for the Three item combination, here's the first item BBQ Beef - looks dry but it was tasty and tender.

We also shared this sushi platter - the sushi here is really good and really cheap. Oh wait so is everything else.
