Surf Report 06-30-2009

SUP @ BL = FUN

Inconsistent but fun overhead waves at Big Lefts. I went to Courts for a while but the waves felt weak then the onshore winds came so off to work I went.

Remember: The next swell starts on Friday so stay home tomorrow.

 

Surf Report 06-28-2009 & 06-29-2009

I missed the 'Big Saturday' but did get to surf Courts on Sunday. Sunday might have been smaller but the waves were pretty good to me - still barelling nicely and walling up pretty good.

Monday morning surf dropped even more - I went SUP at Big Lefts - it was fun only me, Leight, CT and Kepa. There was some waiting but the sets were worth the wait.

Surf Report 06-26-2009

Surf was NOT bigger than yesterday, surf was NOT better than yesterday, but it was still good - maybe it will be bigger and better later today. I don't know, don't care 'cuz I not going - go get 'um if you can!

Still a good day for surf and a terrific Summer!!!!!

Reports say tomorrow is the day  - everybody go early!!!

 

Surf Report 06-25-2009

It was kind of a mixed-up morning.

The morning started with waves a little bigger than yesterday but the conditions were bad - the East winds were driving in small wind swell waves breaking up the sets and little East chops making the texture bumpy. Then came crowded and was pretty junk.

But as people started to go in the winds straightened out - what was bumpy became smooth and the sets started rolling 'nice' and bigger. I had to go work but I stayed out until 8:20 (I start at 8:30) I even saw Kepa getting out of the water at 8:40. Ended up a good day for me.

Fun surf this morning - head high sets, good direction, good wind.

Maybe the swell is 'filling in' maybe it's 'peaking' - I don't care - there were lots of fun-size waves rolling in.

Surf Report 06-22-2009 & Weekend Report

Small wind swell waves with very windy conditions - for me just good to get out in the water.

What a weekend, Friday night we went for dinner at Cafe Miro for the first time and we were very impressed with everything (decor, service, quality and variety of the dishes). I can't wait to go back to try something else. If you've never been there you must try it, don't wait as long as we did. Leighton and Sylvia have been raving about the place for a long time, I finally made time to try it.

Then Sunday we went to Le Bistro for Father's Day. No question - Beef Quartet for Dora and I. Everyone else got the Braised Short Ribs. It's always hard to decide 'do I get what I know is good or try something new?'. I tried a new salad, the Wasabi crusted Ahi salad - winnahs!

If I have time I'll add some pics - work is VERY busy since we reduced our staff. Have a good day!

Happy Aloha Friday!!!

Surf was good but a little windy - I rode my SUP for the first time in about 2 weeks. I was a little shaky but manged to get a few good waves. I think everyone is spoiled from all the good waves we had recently 'cuz was emtpy.

Surf Report 06-17-2009

Surf was very lumpy this morning - still had some sets but not as good as the past few days.

I felt 'out of it' from not getting enough sleep last night and came in early. Have a nice day.
