Surf Report 7-31-2008

First of all - if you ever have the opportunity to attend a lecture by Craig B. Smith I urge you DO NOT GO! We had a fun evening but the Extreme Wave lecture was EXTREME! - EXTREMELY boring.

Surf was good this morning - all east wind swell but lots of waves, some overhead sets and half the crowd of yesterday. I was riding my 9-2 SUP - it was fun!

Surf Report 7-30-2008

Surf came down a little, still windy, but the crowd was less than half of yesterday. Overall not a bad morning.

Maybe a '4.5'.

Tonight we're going to the Extreme Wave lecture at the Hawaii Maritime Center - should be interesting!

Surf Report 7-29-2008

Still get some waves - had 3 feet but you had to wait for it. It was windy and it was crowded but it was fun!

I'll give it a '4'.

Dining Report 7-27-2008 & Surf Report 7-28-2008

Surf came up - maybe 3 feet but a little bumpy. Big Rights and Concessions were going off!!!!! It was missing Courts.

 

For Sunday Dinner we went to Ideta again!!!

Fish Report 7-26-2008

What surf? Small surf! Let's go fishing!!!!  We got some OIO at the secret spot.

Surf Report 7-25-2008

Waves were a little smaller but the wind was perfect. 1 - 2 with a rare 3 footer and light offshore winds. Started out not too crowded but it got bad - it felt like surfing Canoes at one point. I was SUP at Big Lefts most of the time - inconsistent but not crowded.

Rumor has it Kerry got the waves of the day - and someone dropped in on him. I did not witness the incident but I heard about it - that's a bummer.

Always good to see my friend Charlie out - sounds like he wants to be on the blog. Here's a pic from the past.

Surf Report 7-24-2008

Junk Surf!!!!   Windy and crowded!!!!   Mostly windswell!!!!

There were a few good waves but overall not a good day - I'll give it a '3'.

The highlight was Mike getting run over by the 'kook-nurse-lady-who-comes-out-with-her-kook-boyfriend' she actually ran up his body to his head..

No swell + plenty wind = good day to go work early.

Surf came up just a little - very occasional 2 maybe 2 1/2 feet and windy.

Beautiful day but small waves - 1 to occasional 2 - small but fun.

 

Outlook through Saturday Jul 26. A new south swell will arrive Tuesday and surf along south facing shores will build to near the 8 foot advisory threshold by mid-week. Strengthening trade winds may produce rough surf along east facing shores by mid-week.
